well, i can understand the noise coming from a gutted cat, since ur going froma 2.25" pipe to a big ~3.5" canister then back to the small 2.25" pipe... i had my 8 year old bro give my car gas while i stood behind it. sounded OK. the raspyness seems to be something i left loose under there.
