Not any different than with any other performance mods (I/E/H)
More carbon deposits...
Plugs SHOULD be speckled
Other than that you won't NOTICE anything different, other than the effect of a lean engine
I agree with you, wholeheartedly, that it DOES put wear and tear on your engine, but so do other modifications
It can be ran safely, in the fact that you don't blow your engine and possible hurt yourself. When people refer to "safety" in running nitrous, they are looking at the aspect of whether or not your engine will survive after spraying.
Like I said before, there are ways to "bullet-proof" your engine to prevent detonation and massive amounts of pressure on your internals. Nothing forged pistons and some valve work won't fix.
