When you open the door, a real SH would have courtesy lights on the door panel. The side skirt should be a perfect match to the body paint. Also, you can pop the hood and see if you can find the oil filter. If it's angled upwards, then it's a real SH, if it's parallel to the ground, it's a base model. You could also pop your head under to see if you can spot the ATTS unit, but if you don't know what to look for it's tricky unless you can put it on a hoist. There's probably easier ways to determine an SH, but those come to mind.

yeah i was looking @ some articles to tell the difference and the wheels/spoiler thing tipped me off right away...I should be getting the VIN later and that should tell me right? if its a base...offer less? or whats this worth? seems like it should be ready to go if all the work he said thats been done is done, timing belt/water pump, clutch etc etc
