Depends on the build and your budget and what you want to spend..
There are a lot of junk headers and a lot of "better looking" than stock headers, nothing to help with performance..
There are a few decent to good performing off-the-shelf headers on the market now-a-days..
And there are a few really great performing custom headers also.. SMSP, HyTech, RMF. Though I don't know if RMF makes them any more or not.. Heard Randy quit producing them a long while back..
Besides that, custom in my book is the way to go. I actually just saw a custom 4-1 3" Header here local to me for sale. I wanted to get it so bad, but don't have the funds for anything other than fixing my car after it being Stolen..
$500 on Piping? lulz That's nothing.
I had Dave @ SMSP make me a custom Header and bought an Exhaust Kit, Cat, and Resonator from him.. You're looking at spending about $2000..
And the saddest part about it, is I never used any of it... Worthy of the price, just not of sitting in the box..
Anyone wants the Exhaust, I'm selling it. It's still brand new..
