Update
I started my car today after not driving it for ~5 days. The CEL did not come on. I idled it for awhile, then took it out for a drive. ~12 min total start time, no CEL. Was ok at normal operational temp too. Restarted x 2, no CEL. Maybe things are working out ok after all
