You paid $300 for a Quaife install??? That's unreal. A good shop charges $100/hr, and a Quaife is like at least 3-4 hours, and that's if you really know what you are doing. That's not counting that you have to buy 2 $100 bearings new from Honda (which you didn't mention) and also have the correct Honda shims on hand (which dealers don't stock). I got luck by contacting Billy (71dsp) who has a small collection of shims I could use.

I would say your experience isn't typical ...
