I like my H23A1 alot.. (wish i had a H23
).. I heard honda rated the H23A1 at 160hp at the flywheel. However im not sure what the HP will be on THAT car in THAT condition, Only way to be 100% sure would be to dyno it. Ive seen a all stock 92 with like 200k miles on it like 133whp. Age and wear can effect your HP, Well ima stop rambling.
They are both good engines the H23A1 is a good engine WITHOUT vtec and the H22 is a good engine with vtec. I agree with 32206 h23 love BOOST and they are torque monsters.. The h22 just starts with more HP lol.. but i may be a lil' biast.. since i have a 93 si h23a1 haha.
I bought mine for 2000 in july tho.. Only the back break calliper stuck a lil bit because of it sitting up that was fixed with no problem.
However ive seen ludes overheat for a number of reasons.. Weirdest was the radiator was clogged the lil shaft thing that runs from top 2 bottom well only like 1 or 2 of them was open rest CLOGGED He coulda had it RODDED or whatever where they clean it out.. But for the cost of that its worth 2 buy another radiator. It could also be timing lil off. Thermostat. Low Coolant, Water pump dying.. i mean it could be ALOT, more details on how it overheats or when would be helpfull. I would also try 2 get the price knocked down a little the car is 16 years old but depends on what he has in it and miles..
