I just installed some Polk Audio dB 6500 6.5" components in my front door. The forum on the Polk site had some posts about using these in a Prelude so I thought I'd give it a shot. Pretty much anything you buy won't fit directly, except for the Civic Pioneer upgrades and a couple hard to find/no longer made components (so I've read).

The Polk woofer almost fit directly, but I had to cut part of the baffle out of the door panel...just the back part, and not all of it...the woofers really only needed like an 1/8" more depth than the stock woofers. The woofers also have 3 holes that line up perfectly with the stock mounting holes. The woofer is still a tight fit, so you have to work it in the stock mounting location even after removing part of the baffle.

I had to bend and tweak the stock tweeter mounting plates to make them fit the tweeters. I used some double sided tape to attach the tweeters to the plates, should last a while. The mounting plate kind of "cradles" the tweeter, and the magnet pretty much keeps it in place.

The door panel has a nice little pocket that you can take out and attach the crossovers to.

It took me a good part of a day to do the install but it came out nice! They sound a bit bright though...I reversed the tweeters so they point at me, I might put them back in the stock config (pointing away from me). Sorry I didn't take any pics. =/

By the way, these are on sale at Crutchfield for $150...reg price is $200. They'll probably do free shipping if you order over $150 worth of stuff.
