a month is overkill - I've had professionals tell me 2 weeks is enough to let any volatile compunds escape from the paint.

you shouldn't need any kind of polish or gloss/depth enhancement for a year or so. Just use a high quality carnuba wax to seal in the nice finish
In the meantime, soap/water should get you by.
