sorry to bring this back from the dead. I had come up with a "fix" last year, but I need to replace that cable in the engine bay. I have a couple of questions (for Keith and Phamine especially).

1) is it easier to reach the cable from under the car, or just go at it from the top?

2) do you have the part number for the cable, or can you help me find it?

I have checked all over on www.slhondaparts.com I found the cable used on the interior HERE (between the climate control unit and the lever under the dash), but I cannot find the cable that goes from that lever to the engine bay. Is it #6 HERE?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
