I don't know if you'd really call it much of a race but it was quite interesting. Someone at work has a yellow type R that always seems like he thinks he's "All That" because of the car. Well, I happenend to catch him on the way home and we were stopped at a light in town. We looked over at each other and acknowledged each other. I don't know if he was going to go 'cause he wasn't revving his engine to launch so I just rolled out. I accelerated like normal until I was 4-5 lengths ahead and then I saw him drop a gear and start going WOT. He was about 1.5 cars behind before I dropped it into second and went WOT. We were neck and neck with him first edging me (momentum) and then me pulling even. I don't think he knew how to shift very well because when he did, he fell back a car. I took it up to 90+mph and then let off and braked. I was about 2.5 cars ahead at that time. He obviously did the fly-by and kept going until he was a couple blocks ahead of me.
I think I'm going to have to set up a better race between us to really see how each car performs against the other. I'm stock and I think he had some kind of exhaust but that's about all I could see or hear.
I'm not sure what a Type R dyno's at but the '06 Si usually dyno's around 170ish.
On a side note, I don't think he realizes I also own a silver evo 8 with lotsa mods. I drive that to work sometimes but I think racing with that would be just overkill.
