It sounds like it depends on your skill (and boldness) as a driver whether or not these wider tires will make your lap times any faster-- pushing the car to a higher limit before and after every turn without fear of losing traction.

As for added weight, do you think just the rims and 245's alone will make the Prelude slower around town?

I find it very difficult to break loose my Bridgestone S03's in 205/50-16 on the stock 20lb rims under just about any circumstances except slick, rainy roads.

I guess I'm trying to decide between 16x7" Slipstreams on 225/45-16 Bridgestone S03's or the 17x8 Slipstreams on the 245/35-17 Falkens FK451's or Goodyear Eagle GDS3 as being more advantageous on the expert end of driving.
