I have the type-s intake with the K&N panel filter and a removed resonator. Before i had an AEM short ram. the type-s is definitely quieter and throttle response is just smoother throughout the powerband imo. another thing to consider is that the type-s uses almost the same airbox as the oem one does so it doesn't absorb heat like a short ram would.
