Yes, I would remove the ground you have it on and go to chassis ground. There are some good 10 and 12mm bolts that hold the back seat frame that would nicely. Just do not connect where other grounds are present (like taillights, etc)
Check all your fuses to be on the safe side. I think once you change your ground you will probably be ok.
