Well... if you consider the weight penalty, expensive tires, machining of wheels, and fender rolling a "few" side effects, then yes.

Yes, I really saw no decrease in times on autox. But I was definitely steadily improving throughout the day and by the time I finished my last Fun Run, I was a full second and a half faster than my fastest competition time. I'm not quite sure about tire pressures just yet.
