hmm... This didn't fix my problem. It gave the the opportunity to relocate my power/signal wires for my amp to behind that bar tho. I suppose my problem is probably with the rubber collar on top of the coil, especially since I can hear kind of a squeeking/rubbing sound that sounds suspiciously like rubber on metal. Oh well.
On a side note, I got rid on a lot of sound by putting the screw back in the middle of my spare to hold it down. For some reason this was just lying inside the wheel and rattling away.

Note to self: make sure to check for stupid, obvious things that require no tools to fix BEFORE ripping out all of your interior.
