Well if the tranny is beat then rebuild it. You can get ALL the parts that you need from www.gear-speed.com I have called them for parts for my M2B4 that i think is on the way out. 5th gear is acting up, sometimes it engages and sometimes not... I have had issues with reverse in the past as well. They had all the parts that i wanted on HAND!
I think that you can prolly swap the gears and syncros and shift forks from a m2a4, but i'm not sure... Do you have the Jdm non lsd tranny? That is what the M2a4 is... M2F4 is the usdm 4th gen tranny.
I beleave that it is very doable to swap the H23 tranny in the car. The major differeances are that the Ratios are "longer" in the H23. (I don't have the #'s infront of me.) Most of the guys that do this are Boosted Ludes looking for more time under boost.
You can not retain the LSD that is in your M2b4 in a H23 tranny. The OEM LSD has it own gearcase special to the M2b4.
