Nitrous + dying clutch = not too bad
My best time last year was a 15.0 @ 92mph with a 2.2 60'. That was with CAI, pulleys, and cat-back. Same setup this year, but with a Zex 75 dry shot and a horribly slipping clutch.
Well, I started off the day pretty bad. Tried launching at 2.5k RPM and it just spun the clutch to a 2.9 60'. Even after the clutch cought totally and I floored it, it still was slipping from the heat from the launch. That run got me a 15.8 @97 mph.
Then the 2nd run I decided to launch at idle. Basically just ease it off the line and as soon as my foot was off the clutch I pinned it. That worked alot better, and got me a 2.6 60', and all was going well until the clutch started slipping at the top of 2nd and I missed 3rd. That got me a 14.7 @ 96 mph.
3rd run was about the same thing as my second run (clutch was still slipping at the top of the gears), and this time with a proper 2-3 shift I ran a decent 14.4 @ 99 mph. Same 2.6 60' time.
I didn't realize how bad my clutch actually was until this, so I was actually pretty happy with the 3rd run. Basically, once I get the new clutch and get some 2.0-2.1 60's, I'll be aiming for 13's.
