Good day, I finally got my SS tranny replaced in my 97. I elected to go with a reman unit from ATK that has a 36k warranty. They were aware of the issues with the original equipment and assured me that the components that they used in the reman process were not from Honda. This should avoid part of the issues with the failures. I stopped at my local Honda dealership for an oil change and mentioned that I had to replace the tranny and they seemed quite surprised at my failure. The shop manager also has a 98 SS and he was somewhat concerned that he might also have a failure. He is contacting Honda from a dealership stand point and will be reporting back to me, at least a bit of feedback. I told him about the number of failures that the members here have been reporting and he might be able to offer us another avenue to attack Honda. Will post details in the future.
Once again happy with my 'lude, but pocket book is allot lighter.
