No. The JDM unit supplies ground to the AC (BLUE/YEL) wire. Try connecting that wire to the body ground and see if your clutch engages. If it does, something's wrong with the JDM unit provided that you installed the evap temp sensor. You need to short the BLUE/YEL wire with the BLUE/RED wire on the thermostat. About the YELLOW/BLACK wire, I have no idea why its there...mine has only 2 wires.

According to the circuit diagram, the YELLOW/BLACK wire supplies a positive, high-current to the AC clutch and it's nowhere near the thermostat (it goes to the compressor clutch relay).
